Received his PhD (Science) from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM, Mexico) at Mexico and MD from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG, Mexico). He is currently member of the National System of Investigators (SNI, Mexico) as Level 1. He worked as associate professor from 2009 to 2015 at the Unidad de Medicina Genómica of the General Hospital in Mexico City. His research included different fields as molecular genetics, forensic genetics, population genetics, genomics, molecular diagnoses and bioinformatics. He has been invited as an expert in forensic genetics in case laws.
As teaching experience, he has been invited as professor at the postgraduate program in Biological Science at UNAM. He published his work, locally and internationally, in several books and scientific journals, and participated in scientific meetings. He is currently member of the Local Biosafety Committee in Research at the General Hospital of Mexico and professor at the Medical Science postgraduate program of the Military School of Graduates in Health, Mexico (Escuela Militar de Graduados en Sanidad). He is head of the Genetic Laboratory and is professor of Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Forensic Science School, UNAM.
