She received a PhD. Degree in Law from the Institute of Legal Research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with a dissertation on “The introduction of oral trial in Mexico by means of judicial argument in the scheme of the constitutional reform of 2008”.

She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law at the School of Law of the UNAM and was awarded with the Alfonso Caso Medal in 2005 for outstanding performance in the Masters Program.

She has a specialty in legal argumentation form the University Of Alicante, Spain.

She worked as an agent of the General Attorney´s Office in activities related to constitutional analysis and investigation of crimes related to organized crime (1995-1999). She served as Advisor on the Federal Judiciary Council (1999-2001) and as Legal Ruling in the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (2003-2013).

She has taught courses at the School of Law (UNAM) and has participated as speaker in national and international forums on issues related to Forensic Science, the relationship between law and science, criminal justice system, legal argumentation, organized crime, human rights, justice, etc. She has published a book, and several book chapters and articles in journals of national and international recognition.

Currently, she is the headmistress of the Forensic Science Bachelor’s Program at the School of Medicine, UNAM.

She is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level I, and a counselor at the National Medical Arbitration Commission.
